The Most Important Trip
You'll Ever Take
Have you ever stopped to consider that
you might actually spend more time meticulously plotting out your
vacations than you do intentionally planning your life?
I’m betting that you spent hours
discussing, pondering, debating, weighing the alternatives when you
planned your last real vacation, making sure that not a detail was
missed.
Why?
To make sure that those two weeks had
that certain something that you need in order to revitalize
you from the stress of the year.
When it comes to a vacation, you plan
where you want to go, what kind of climate you'd like to visit, the
activities you'd like to enjoy, where you'll eat, where you'll stay,
what you'll wear, who will accompany you – because you want to make the
most of a limited-time opportunity.
What if you used the attention to
detail that you use to ensure the presence of that something
in your vacation to make sure that you have that something
during the other fifty weeks of the year?
Your life is the most
important trip you'll ever plan.
Where's the map???
Good Question!
Élan! Life Design
Coaching exists to give you the tools, the inspiration, the support and
the space you need to map out a flexible itinerary for your evolving
life. Élan! provides you with a step-by-step method
that structures your thinking and helps you learn what makes you tick –
so that you can design the elements into your life that allow you to
thrive.
Because, just like our vacations,
placing an intentional focus on what we want in our lives greatly
increases our chances of finding it.
Life's changes may take you
to personal victory.
Even positive change can be difficult.
A promotion, a new house, getting married – each of these brings
challenges along with happiness. But the changes you haven't asked for
– the loss of a relationship or job, an empty nest, an unexpected move
– often unexpectedly contain the seeds of triumph. When everything is
changing anyway, you're suddenly free to consider major shifts in your
lifestyle that have always seemed off-limits before.
In fact, it's a perfect time to
intentionally redesign your life.
Your Life Design: a unique
combination of dynamic environments
At the core of the Élan!
approach is the idea that the better you know yourself, the more you
can direct your energy toward what's important to you. Knowing your
self is a crucial part of life design, because each component of your
personal life design is a manifestation of some part of yourself. So
we'll start by creating a blueprint of you – your values, strengths,
dreams, feelings, beliefs.
From there we'll begin to shape a
picture of what you want to surround yourself with. We'll delve into
your physical and natural surroundings – your home and your office; the
relationships that come together to create your daily life; and even
the environment of ideas and information that you are immersed in.

Design Tools
For each component of the process, Élan!
has tools to guide you – to identify important aspects of yourself and
to build them into your life design.
Supplies You'll Need
Transitioning from a life that shapes you
to a life that you shape is a momentous
endeavor, but the first step is easy. Here's how to start.
You'll need a trusty pen or pencil and
a spiral pad of paper. It's worth taking the time to choose tools that
have you itching to begin! My current favorite tablet has a black vinyl
cover and pure white graph paper inside with a bright, lime-green grid.
By choosing supplies that have you raring to go, you are creating an
environment that will support you in this adventure!
Add to this creative environment the
support and interaction you need to urge you on. Maybe it's music,
maybe you'd love to work side-by-side with a friend or a group of
friends. Whatever it is, make it happen!
"Life is either a daring
adventure or nothing at all." – Helen Keller
Profoundly true! Don't wait until
tomorrow – and tomorrow and tomorrow.
Sharpen your pencil right now, find a
sunny table, and launch a new adventure for your life!
This is your time – and it's
going to be fabulous!
Bon Voyage!
